From fairy gardens to dream backyards, this hands-on project is the perfect educational activity for sparking creativity. Calling all young creators! Kids ages 4–16 are invited to build a mini landscape display —then showcase it proudly at The 21st Fresno Fall Home Show for thousands of local attendees!

Backyard Builders Details

Who Can Participate:

  • Students ages 4–16

  • Classes with 10+ students

  • Homeschool groups may team up to qualify

What Teachers Receive:

  • Age-appropriate lesson plan

  • Funding support for project supplies

  • Project Drop-Off: November 5, 2026 (Fresno Fairgrounds)

  • Judging: November 6, 2026

  • Winners Announced: Afternoon of November 6 at the Home Show

Awards & Recognition:

  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons (per age group)

  • Participation certificates for all students

Age Groups:

  • Little Builders: Ages 4-7

  • Jr. Designers: Ages 8-12

  • Teen Creators: Ages 13-16
